One of the most frequent questions we’re asked is how to store the bars.
You’ll learn quickly not to leave your bar in water or it will become a soggy mess. If you’re new to shampoo and conditioner bars here are some tips to keep your bars dry between uses.
Ideally you want to remove your bars from the shower area in-between uses so that they can dry out and last as long as possible. If you cant or just forget to remove your bars from the shower don’t fear, there are other options!
To keep your bars at their best make sure your soap holder has drainage, airflow, and dry air. It’s a good idea to find a spot in your shower that’s well away from the stream.
Choose a storage container that will let water drain away and let air circulate. Our soap holders keep the bars up right and allow for the water to drain as well, they have room for air flow to dry the bars completely. Each holder perfectly holds one shampoo and one conditioner bar. A perfect compliment to your plastic free journey that look Uber cute in your bathroom. Showers tend to stay quite steamy, so if you notice your bar getting soft, take it out for a good dry a couple of times a week. For drying in between showers, lay your bars on a dry flannel or towel.
When your bar is almost finished but your soaking up every last bubble order a new bar. When wet squeeze the left over piece to your new bar and voila no waste! Their good till the last drop!
Another option as the bar reaches the last few uses is to pop it in a soap saver bag. The sisal bag will help you lather the last few pieces of shampoo or conditioner easily.
Here at Boheme Haircare we want to be a part of the solution. We share this beautiful planet so let’s take care of it together. Decades ago, glass shampoo bottles and refillable compacts were the norm, so while the beauty industry has never been particularly eco-friendly, it wasn’t a glaring environmental problem. In the 1950s, plastic manufacturing became widespread. Easy to produce, durable, and most importantly, cheap, it became the “it” material in the packaging world. Since then, humans have created more than 8.3 billion metric tons of plastics — and 91% of it hasn’t been recycled. What’s more, 70% of plastic waste is estimated to end up in the ocean or in landfills, where it takes over 400 years to decompose. That all means that by 2050, there will be more pounds of plastic in the ocean than fish. We have made it part of our mission to only produce products that are plastic free. Our shampoo and conditioner bars are equivalent to 2 or 3 250ml plastic bottles. Therefore using our bars helps divert thousands of bottles from our oceans and landfills. So by using our shampoo and conditioner bars, with zero compromise on luxurious quality, you’re also saving the planet. It’s pretty Awesome isn’t it?
